Replying To Pope_Benedict:  "Is it not called the Leinster Hurling Championship LHC anymore? I thought Offaly were in it this year, or has there been a name change? Does LHC no longer apply?"
When you said recently I imagined you meant the last few years. My mistake.

I was in O' Connor Park when KK played Galway in one of the first games for Galway in the LHC, JJ marking Joe. Wonderful atmosphere, great pace and skill in the game - what happened last Sunday was a non event in comparison.

We will srape a win or blow them away out into Galway Bay.....either way Galway will beat Wexford.

I disagree. Galway were well off the pace in 2009 as well. In fact, when McIntyte finished up in 2011, his thoroughly memorable legacy line was that 'Galway were farther than ever away from winning an allireland'. Cunningham comes in, and nearly wins one a year later.

You're 16 years older than you were back then, maybe it's time to upgrade your 16yr old spec on those rose tinted glasses.

That was a great game.

No it wasn't. KK got 10 points in a row at one point to put it to bed. Once Cody dropped a sweeper in front of JC and the fullback, it was game over. That was a great 4 in a row KK team of course, so Galway did well to keep it pucked out to them. Galway 2009 exited the championship on a 22-9 free count to Diarmuid Kirwan.

I was merely comparing the experience of two games in O' Connor, nothing else. If you attended both I struggle to understand your 'disagreement'.

I agree we will get over Wexford (fingers crossed) but I don't think we will get over Dublin though. Time will tell.

Replying To PoolSturgeon:  "Oh no, that was me! Poor auld katser doesnt really get the complexities of life! I mean I would LOVE with all my heart to see Galway win the McCarthy Cup this year but will make this astounding prediction that I dont THINK they will and will put my money on Cork instead. But should it happen somewhere in the championship that Galway and Cork play each other I'd be at the match and I will be shouting as loud as any Galway man for a Galway win because what my HEART desires is more important to me than getting a prediction right and making money from it."
That's a good way to be. But I suppose it flies well over some heads, as you've pointed out!

A 50/50 game versus Wexford in my opinion. On the evidence of their game vs Dublin, Wexford are a physically strong team and better equipped for a dogfight than we are. I share your pessimism of our chances vs Dublin who again are another physically strong team.

Donoghue will be in a uniquely informed position to share yere pessimism regarding the Dublin game, or otherwise, if he has some optimism about Galway's prospects in Parnell Park.

Re being off the pace, all the other KK rivals must have been further off the pace because none of them came within 4 points of KK that year. The less said about McIntyre the better!
