So is the rest of the Galway team when compared to Cathal Mannion. When i praised Killeen its because he deserved it not because i think he's better than Cathal. lol.

Agree, couldn't give anyone from that Galway panel praise only Cathal mannion.

Well if all of the Galway squad brought the same level of impact to intercounty proceedings in 2024, as Killeen did, we'd have won minimal possession, scored almost nothing, and would doubtless have lost over 90% of our NHL and championship games.

Craughwell - despite their good performance , needed a lucky break against a disappointing Sarsfield's. Turloughmore - oodles of talent , Oranmore paid the price for two epics v Loughrea IN THE u20 Final . Suspect they had little rest. Can Turlough do it on a rainy night in Pearse Stadium ? St Tomas's - Never say never , Not the force of old .....but will make the final. Loughrea - been written off by many based on group form , strength of their panel showed yesterday . Will be hard to stop now ! LostforWords (Galway) - Posts: 3 - 06/10/2025 14:46:41 2638690 Link 1 |
Turloughmore v St.Thomas' Co.Final. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2731 - 06/10/2025 14:58:46 2638692 Link 1 |
I'll go with Thomas's v Loughrea. All 4 teams are good enough to win so i wont be too surprised if I'm wrong.

Hey no argument there as the All Star selection for Galway shows. The good news is that Killeen is young and it would be hard for him to be worse than in this past year in intercounty. He can only get better……I HOPE.

It's fine passing comments like that. He was the best on show in the quarter finals. When was the last time there was a Galway beast on show against Kilkennny or even a beast from any county against them??? As for the Cathal Mannion discussion. He's blessed with hurling ability but remember its Senior B.

Loughrea love to be written off.

Cathal Mannion stood out like a beacon for Galway in this year's championship too, so it's not just in senior B club hurling that he's doing it. To have a good shot an All-star after the campaign Galway had this year is a fair achievement.

True and the pundits did get it wrong in 1941, 2006 and 2024.

It's fine passing comments like that. I'd say Limerick had a few beasts roaming about at the 2023 final, when they recorded a 0-30 to 2-15 victory over KK. Other beasts, or beastly displays v KK back the years........Tony Doran, Joe Cooney, Brian Whelehan, Brian Lohan, Lar Corbett, Seamus Callinan, The Rock etc etc etc

Joe Canning many times, and Niall Healy in 2001 also.

Pundits in 1941? Goodness me, you've been around awhile.

That should read 2005 for Niall Healy. 2001 Eugene Cloonan did a job on them.

No, they robbed themselves by being 7pts up and in control for majority of the game. Couldn't finish off the job and buckled when the pressure came on.. Turlough won't "bend the knee" so easily !! katser (Galway) - Posts: 2731 - 07/10/2025 16:01:23 2638854 Link 1 |
