Have to say the sound of that hit from Daithi Burke in the first half could be heard from the terrace in Parnell. The Dublin player would have been better off running into a stone wall

Told you this handy run of Offaly, Wexford, Antrim and Dublin respectively suited us. The team has definitely gotten stronger. Get over Kilkenny in the Leinster Final and wouldn't a All Ireland Semi Final v Tipperary be a sweet one!!

The Dublin player did nt run into anyone. He was hit a into the head with a shoulder and Burke should have got a red card.

He would've got a 2 game ban then.

Workman like win for Galway today, they played well enough to win comfortably and did just that. Both teams should have been down to 14 men for nasty hits, Conor Cooney and Tirenan Kileen are liabilities in the forward line and really don't contribute much. The backs played decent but again leak goals the first Dublin goal was well executed but the free and the box scramble goals should have been stopped. Galway are not speedsters and did not have one realistic goal chance all game. The good I saw was incremental improvement in the team performance, the fact that they weren't over reliant on Cathal Mannion was a positive. Concannon and Whelan have improved a lot with game time and was also impressed with David Burke (35 years young) and TJ Brennan going forward. They are exactly where we expected them to be at this phase under MOD, not sure if they will take Kilkenny but they will have a shout at least. From where they started they have definitely shown improvement.

If Galway win Leinster, they can't meet Tipperary until the final. The Leinster runner-up will play the winner of Tipp v Joe McDonagh Cup winners, in the quarter-final.

Correction. Tipp will play the runner-up of the Joe McDonagh.

Good point. Before the Round Robin format, there were cases where the semi-final fixtures were changed to avoid teams playing each other again. I don't know if that is still the case under the RR format. Saying that, and getting back to your question. If the 4 teams you mention get to the semi-finals, the logical, and popular, thing to do would be change the fixtures to Galway v Tipp, and Limerick v Dublin.
I could be wrong, and a Galway v Tipp semi is possible. But, for that to happen, Galway will first need to beat Kilkenny in the Leinster final.

They weren't 'changed' of course. There must have been a competition stipulation in advance about no repeat fixtures. There isn't anything 'logical' by the way about changing draw fixtures in the middle of a competition, when the rules of that competition are likely set in advance.

The semi draw is fixed in recent years imo, the Munster champs play the Leinster runnerup, or the team that beats that runner-up. Leinster champ plays Munster runner-up or team that beats that runner-up. I think that's been the hardwired semi draw since this format started in 2018, but I could be wrong about that and there might be a 'no repeat fixtures' in the mix on occasion too.

AFAIK the no repeat match ups only applies to ni repeats of Provincial finals, but I could be wrong.

A provincial final repeat cannot occur at semi stage, when it's provincial champ v runner-up from other province or team that beats that runner-up, which is the current format.

A better return than putting £10 on the win at 2/1. Assuming they don't win by more than 9 points.

Thank god the mighty man from Meelick-Eyrecourt J Fleming is ok and not seriously injured!
Billhook and nettles springs to mind.
As I said previously...my biggest fear was not losing the match BUT could all Galway men avoid being injured!
