Being honest I don't know what's wrong with crokes, they're minors took an awful hiding the other night as well.

Kenmare shamrocks will play Austin Stacks in this years Kerry club final. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 10/10/2021 17:14:22 2385127 Link 1 |
I reckon The Shamrocks will win it. They seem to be firing on all cylinders; 4-5 county men, and good balance in the other positions. Plus, The Stacks have flattered to deceive for decades now. Admittedly, I don't know much about them, and their current players.

I don't know, Stacks gave Templenoe a fair hiding today and Templenoe had 4 Kerry players, also Stacks bate Kenmare in last years final. Still there is many a slip between a cup and a lip as they say. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 10/10/2021 20:58:58 2385164 Link 1 |
You got that one right, KingdomBoy. Good win for Stacks. This new system on HS doesn't give much incentive to post. Not for me anyway. It's only a matter of time before almost nobody will be posting at all.

That's true, this new system is not great. I was in killarney today for the intermediate semifinal between Rathmore and Beaufort and the Kerry club final between Austin Stacks and Kenmare where Beaufort lived up to their favourites tag by winning 1:16 to Ráthmores 1:10 and now will face Na Gaeil in the final. Stacks beat Kenmare by 1:16 to 1:11 where Kenmares biggest problem was they only had 1 Seánie Shea, Stacks will represent the County now should a divisional side win the championship, stack were very impressive and they have subs that can more than contribute. Kerry s Tommy Walsh has just announced his retirement from inter County football. His term in Australia affected him football wise and a severe injury cost him his pro football contract while also losing that years of pace. He did quite come back the footballer he was before leaving but always played with heart and pride. Gave a masterclass performance in the all ireland final in 09 scoring 4 points from play (2 with either leg). Was also one of the greatest minor midfielders I ever saw. A huge man with natural strength but never got involved in dirty play. A credit to his family and his county and best of luck to Tommy. Totally agree with you Mick. Best wishes to Tommy in his retirement. Hopefully, he's a few more good years left in the Strand Rd. jersey. He was a player that I liked, and has both his AI medal on the field of play with a great performance, and his professional football career, to look back on. Not a lot of footballers have either of them, never mind both!

Enjoy you retirement Tommy, your performances in 08 and 09 were top class. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 19/10/2021 11:49:12 2386232 Link 1 |

Best wishes to Tommy in his retirement, he was some colossus before his AFL stint, delighted he got the swan song after Fitzmaurice left, serious out ball option and id imagine a huge influence with his winning experience behind the scenes. Kind words indeed Username. Yeah Tommy was a colossus before his tour of Oz but in fairness to him when he came back he gave his all. When he tore hamstring off the bone in Oz it finished his pro career and he list that yard of pace. A very clean player. You are correct in that Jack also managed Tommy at club level. However I think Tommy making the right decision and best of luck to him.

So I see off the ball have made an apology for making up lies about the Kerry county board, let's hope they've learnt their lesson now. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 20/10/2021 10:45:32 2386380 Link 1 |
Yes your memory from when you read it on the hoganstand home page, where Jack said he had Tommy for 2 years 1 at club level and had him for another year at intercounty. That was pre 2011 so it's understandable that you didn't know. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 20/10/2021 10:51:36 2386383 Link 1 |
Be interesting Mick to see what Jack does with Davey Moran, will he have a word and ask im for another 12 months, or he may reboot the whole midfield, maybe there are lads coming through. Is Diarmuid O'Connor ready to be the pivot in midfield, can you get more then a man marking job out of Barry, is Spillane a viable option or Sherwood. You feel its the back 9, that needs the build, maybe a couple of half forwards of the right type and balance. If option B is a runner, i think broad and deep squads are going to be key. Though we always say that dont we! ;) TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4501 - 20/10/2021 17:38:11 2386502 Link 1 |
Hi I thought you were supposed to be putting on the wellies and heading out training young lads? I suppose the club found out you were a newbie and hasn't a clue about football and sent you on your way :-) Still you can always help the club by selling a few lottery tickets, I guess there really is a place for everyone in the gaa :-) KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 21/10/2021 10:49:58 2386584 Link 1 |
Yes it will be interesting User re Moran.if he stays on I would say he will be a part time player and could be used at times as a ff as we all know Jack likes the big ff.I think Diarmuid O connor is ready to take it to the next level but yes we need more from Jack Barry than man marking.i would guess their will be a new midfielder this year and by all accounts a guy called Joe O connor could be in the frame.Agree if option B is passed the panel will be so important,

Full tilt, young Diarmuid is a player, its consistency and him maintaining is optimal is his next stage of development. Moran was already a brilliant fielder, be a fascinating move if Jack coaxes him, will keep an eye out for young Joe, one or two others breaking through i hear.
