Why isn't this a double header next weekend? It is crazy and I don't see any reason for it. Crazy stuff

This is from one of the recent bulletins that come out after County Board meetings:

It was pointed out that it will be very challenging to host intercounty double headers in Chadwicks Wexford Park until after the upgrade works are completed, as the dressing rooms are not adequate to accommodate an intercounty team and their associated backroom in a single dressing room.

Seems like a convenient excuse. I cannot remember the last time there was a double-header in the league, never mind the championship. It would be so beneficial to the footballers in their current guise to be the curtain-raiser to the hurlers now and again.

Definitely it would. I suspect revenue might have something to do with it though.

Agree with this post. Followed the league games and very little in the way of promising football. I know everyone is putting the work in but I don't think the players fully believe in the direction they are going.

Team named for Sunday anyway. I have been very vocal about my opinion about a few lads not being quite up to it at this level, and despite a less than impressive body of work this year, some of them are still in the side. Roche does have his favourites.

Now I really want to get behind the lads, and despite not being able to physically attend the game due to a prior engagement, I will follow with interest. But it's all a bit inert at the minute. We keep chopping and changing, especially in pivotal positions, and while most of our losses in the league were narrow, there has been no noticeable improvement this year.

I suppose being a Wexford football supporter that follows Man United as well, optimism is sucked out of me.

Thankfully being a Millwall fan I'm used to not having great expectations Beano! I think we have a good chance against Offaly. They, I'm sure, are expecting to beat us handily. Apparently they have a few injuries also. If we play like we did in last years championship, and there's no reason why we shouldn't, we won't be too far away.

Exactly. It would really help promote the game to have it as a double header. There won't be 2,000 in the park on Sunday.

Yeah but why is the team not announced - its the day of the game and nobody knows who is playing. I made the same point during the league when dummy teams kept getting announced - management seem to think that all that playacting makes a difference, such a joke, shows a lack of respect for the supporters.

Will they play in those positions Beano? O Connor will hardly be in the corner? Is tubritt on the bench? Hope Shanley does well.

It's imperative he does well. We literally have no other options there, and in fairness he has looked sharp since he has returned to the side.

Hopefully we will raise our game and give it a good lash. Offaly aren't unbeatable.
