From my time in Tyrone I met several Irish speakers from Gaeltacht areas of the county. The O Neill from Tyrone and Red Hugh O Donnell from Donegal were the last remaining genuinely Irish political leaders. For anybody to accuse either of those counties of Britishness is frankly amazing.

Do you think the blanket defense shouldn't have been criticized or the likes of the muck Donegal played under McGuinness should have been hailed.

The 2011 All-Ireland Semi-Final between Dublin and Donegal ended up Dublin 0-08 - 0-06 Donegal, in front of 81,000 with probably half of the scores coming from frees, who wants to watch or be part of s***e like that.

Booed off the pitch and rightly so, even I would have to thank Dublin for saving us from the that Donegal muck ball.

So it's not all about any anti northern agenda, the great Down teams of the 60's are still held in very high regard, so you can reap what you sow.

Oh stop, please please stop,, if I had to name any sort of culture of begrudgery in the gaa, I doubt anti ulster begrudgery would even make the top 3.

Dublin,kerry, kilkenny, all get it way worse than any ulster team, the latter two get it for committing the awful crime of simply being good, (we all know the Dublin debate, let's not start that here).
Kilkenny had an awesome team from 06-15,and their recognition for their greatness amounted to bring accused of destroying hurling.
Alot of gaa fans want Dublin destroyed, literally destroyed.
When armagh took on kerry in 02 the entire country was rooting for them. If tyrone face kerry or Dublin they'll have the neutral vote too,so in the words of John Kimble,, stop whining.

ah yeah I suppose it can be both ways...like the Catholic community up there, they probably felt abandoned by the South (which politically at least they were anyway) and I suppose that creeps into the Sport side of it too..I always liked the Ulster counites over all..I know some of the football was terrible and is by times that they play..alot down here isnt great either I suppose...

Awk bless those serial winners of trophies having to listen to neutrals wanting the underdog to beat them. That's terrible abuse altogether. You never see that in sport do you! Did any of them go to matches as proud GAA people and have to listen to jeers from so called fellow GAA supporters or opposition players like "We dont pay our taxes to the queen" or "away back up to Britain with ye" on top of all the constant bigotry recieved from the other side of the community the rest of the week for daring to wear GAA gear in public places or play hurling in the local park? Or have the RUC constantly harassing bus loads of players and supporters travelling to matches for the same reasons as the other 26 counties who could travel freely without any danger? I think if the 6 county hate only extended as far as on field success you would never have had the seige mentality that existed back when Armagh and Tyrone were lifting Sam. Perhaps take that kindergarten advice you gave and apply it to yourself if that's the best you can do.

Did you just gallop into the middle of the thread on your high horse without reading any of the previous commentary?
Just for your information. I called out a section of the Tyrone following for bringing a truly ignorant banner to GAA matches that originated with Millwall soccer hooligans in England.
It's nothing got to do with them beating us this year. They were the better team. No Cavan person is sore over that. Now we'd be sore if it had been Monaghan that beat us but thankfully that hasn't happened for a long time.

No matter how bad of a game you think it was, it was great compared to the rubbish lots of people spend big money to go and see over the water. Pure scutter compared to even a bad game of GAA. Give me Leitrim v Carlow and it would be better than any Premiership match.

I met plenty from the Inishowen peninsula sneering at and imitating their own county men from the West Donegal Gaeltacht in a nasty way, that's an even sadder mindset.

Look at another of your county men, the self appointed "Ulster Football Spokesman" on this forum, the fine example he is setting when it comes to disrespecting other Gaels and the bad name he manages to single handedly give Donegal.

Actually the scutter Donegal played drove many away from Gaelic football.

Ulster coaches coaching young kids to be "sweepers", now that's what you call real scutter !

Leitrim v Carlow would be a good game actually, they'd try and play football anyway.
