The record is playing the truth but the deluded can't handle the truth…

Same in Dublin. Not unusual to see people in pubs cheering on whoever Leinster are playing. Rugby schools banned GAA for generations and even stopped teams from vocational schools entering teams in competitions. I like watching rugby but zero emotional connection to any team playing the game including the national one. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3223 - 09/10/2024 15:25:51 2573908 Link 1 |
Nah. It's pure attention seeking on your part. Jack Nicholson will be on to you for plagiarism.

We have one lad at our club, lives a mile from me out in the country, who plays hurling only for our u14s. He plays Rugby for the Wanderers. I'd say he might go to training there in overalls some days, he comes from a good hard working country family. Another friends son plays for Enniscorthy and had trials at Leinster. Again there wouldn't be a snobbish bone in his body, they'd be a working class family from 1 street away from Bellefield. I'm not saying all rugby people aren't snobs, I played rugby myself for 16 years and met plenty in that time, but many, if not more, aren't.

Just the truth…. Get your head out of the sand and into the real world…

You keep repeating the same line over and over and over on about 10 different threads. Rule changes are coming. Why don't you wait and see what they are instead of acting like nobody cares within the GAA. In the meantime you can post another story about an incident in a club game that never actually happened.

Of course rule changes are coming and why do you think that is…? I will tell you … it's because of the absolute terrible state of Gaelic football but idiots like you continually bury your head in the sand and don't see the problems… all these proposed changes proves without doubt that I was right all along… Now jog on …. good lad.

Idiots like me who are heavily involved in the running of clubs. Who do you think knows more about the state of Gaelic football? Me or an armchair fan like yourself. There will be a couple of changes, there are always changes in sport . The game will always evolve. Keep listening to Liveline good lad.

Your world isn't the real world Blue. It's way past time for you to change the record. People all over the country are going to watch football. It's the biggest spectator sport in the country.

Never before has so many changes been tried out at the same time which would indicate to anyone other than a clown that the game is in dire straits…!

It's the only sport in Ireland that has seen a huge drop in attendance figures over the last number of years but don't let that keep you out of your fantasy world….. good lad

It's probably the only sport in Ireland that's increased the number of meaningless games though? No wonder average attendances have fallen.

You are taring all rugby schools with one brush. Some didn't play gaa but many did and do. Vocational schools stopped from playing in what? KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 3680 - 10/10/2024 17:16:38 2574093 Link 0 |
You are clueless. You constantly ignore the fact there are too many matches during the year alongside the cost of attending games and most games are televised.

Rugby are bringing in rule changes as well.

Im referring to Dublin. Catholic and Protestant "elite" schools all banned GAA, some until my memory. Of course you don't hear "historians" of our dreadful past on about that. I was in vocational school in late 70s which was stopped from playing in Leinster junior cup because we were too close to a middle class school who objected! They had no GAA btw. We had won Dublin football and soccer competitions and had All Ireland winning boxers and athletes. They were probably afraid we'd whip their asses. GAA people are fully tuned into club championships which are getting huge crowds. Rugby big event tomorrow in Croker drawing coverage akin to an all Ireland. Fact is tomorrows game is a Micky mouse game. I've zero interest in it.

Thankfully times have changed Barney , sure lots of schools in Dublin banned 'foreign sports' like rugby back then. Blackrock College have an excellent hurling team now full of lads from Cuala and Crokes.
