Rory Beggan really got away with one there! Lucky boy! Gets the free out because he was fouled but only after he touched it on the ground! MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13792 - 24/06/2017 20:32:04 2004439 Link 0 |
McCaron, wow would've expected him to point that free. Can Down hang on? Dubsfan28 (Dublin) - Posts: 2509 - 24/06/2017 20:35:28 2004440 Link 0 |

Based on his league form, you would. He's had a poor championship tho. I'd have let McManus take it with his right.

What a game!! Well done to Down there is no way you'd have expected that from them. That will give them belief going in to the final although I would expect Tyrone to overrun them. GeniusGerry (Kerry) - Posts: 2113 - 24/06/2017 20:41:38 2004449 Link 1 |
Great win for Down, fully deserved. They move the ball very skillfully and are a joy to watch at times, real connoisseurs of football. Monaghan looked rattled at times and lost their focus. The Ulster Championship has been very entertaining this year for a province that apparently can't play football. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9816 - 24/06/2017 20:42:31 2004451 Link 1 |
That result will surprise most but not me. We ran Monaghan close only to come up short and we are very average. Monaghan are also average and these so called analysis have us brainwashed thinking they are better then they actually are. At the end of the day Monaghan are bottlers. Great game of football and nearly destroyed by a poor ref second half that did everything to try and get a Monaghan win. Some of them decisions tut tut

Well done down.. I had feeling the hype would get to monaghan in this game. The conditions were right for down to deliver this result. We were written off and that is what happens in creates energy in challenge. Monaghan will be hard to beat in qualifiers though... downtothecore (Down) - Posts: 349 - 24/06/2017 20:51:59 2004464 Link 0 |
Monaghan again provide us with an exhibition of how to arrogantly dismiss their opposition. Longford 2016. Down 2017. All that talk of beating Tyrone fairly hollow now. sceptical (Cavan) - Posts: 544 - 24/06/2017 20:52:56 2004466 Link 0 |

Oh yes, 2 Ulster titles and three years in Division one is "average". Sounds more like you have a chip on your shoulder.
