Heading for Dublin soon and making the day out of it. All the best to the Down team and management today. We are very proud of your efforts so far this year and REDANDBLACK30 (Down) - Posts: 1700 - 29/07/2017 09:40:18 2025245 Link 0 |
Should be a good one this. Think Down are quite an underrated side, have turned things around big time during this season PressureKick (UK) - Posts: 263 - 29/07/2017 11:47:48 2025287 Link 0 |
Kevin McKernan is named at half forward REDANDBLACK30 (Down) - Posts: 1700 - 29/07/2017 14:55:25 2025347 Link 0 |
Hard game to call, can Monaghan find their form or will Down recover from their Ulster final defeat? I think Down are a team that are going places in the next few years but its always hard to recover from a defeat in the Ulster final so I give a reluctant nod to Monaghan. Not at the match. Freeman, k Duffy and mcanespie, in for McAdam, Jack and O Duffy. Good bench. Hope freeman makes his mark. muckla (UK) - Posts: 370 - 29/07/2017 16:49:34 2025391 Link 0 |

Tight enough first half, some nice points scored. I don't think there will be too much in it in the second half too, hard one to call. Dubsfan28 (Dublin) - Posts: 2509 - 29/07/2017 17:31:24 2025402 Link 0 |

Harrison is class, great first half and season so far for him. No Monaghan forward has scored from play yet either, gona be some second half. Dubsfan28 (Dublin) - Posts: 2509 - 29/07/2017 17:54:04 2025413 Link 0 |
Well done Monaghan, that was some second half. Dubsfan28 (Dublin) - Posts: 2509 - 29/07/2017 18:40:52 2025435 Link 2 |
That was a shocking game of football. Christ Down were like rabbits in the headlights. Dreadful. daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 29/07/2017 18:47:58 2025444 Link 0 |
Wrong by 2 but happy with 2nd half. Building momentum slowly by slowly. Be nice to are our neighbours to win now.

Strange comment. If it had of been 10-9 it would of been dour Ulster football. 1-24 to 1-16. Goal chances. Great scores. Some people just love complaining. The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2093 - 29/07/2017 19:02:44 2025450 Link 6 |
Eh no. Basing my comment on what was on show. Just because there was a decent amount of scores doesn't make it a good game.

Based on that performance how good was the Dublin win? Armagh would be 4 or 5th Ulster ? IrishGael3 (USA) - Posts: 1092 - 29/07/2017 20:36:32 2025487 Link 0 |
Dissapointed again with our second half no show but all credit to monaghan. Goodluck against the dubs. downtothecore (Down) - Posts: 349 - 29/07/2017 21:03:00 2025511 Link 0 |
I think the standings in Ulster fluctuate though more so than in any other province. Like, on any given day you would back Monaghan, Armagh and Down to be close to each other and maybe beat each other. Armagh were excellent tonight and were fully worth their win. Issue is we really didn't have any decent games in the build up to this. We played a shocking Laois team and really poor Meath team and then had to play the dubs. daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 29/07/2017 21:07:52 2025521 Link 0 |
Great game and well done Monaghan on a very impressive second half performance. 3 teams out of 4 from Ulster on that side of the draw now, coupled with 3 out of 4 from Connacht on the other side, it doesn't say much for Leinster and Munster outside of the Dubs and Kerry. Monaghan have come good and they have a game in Croker under their belts, they'll make a tough opponent for either ourselves or Tyrone and it's not beyond them to scalp somebody. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8729 - 29/07/2017 21:29:01 2025540 Link 0 |
