Dessie Farrell is in no doubt that Stephen Cluxton will adjust to the new football rules.
The evergreen goalkeeper, who was a late replacement for the injured Evan Comerford in Dublin’s Allianz League win over Galway at Croke Park on Saturday night, looked a little unsure of himself in the first half as he got his first taste of the so-called rule enhancements.
“Stephen will adapt. It's his first game back, you know we're delighted to have him in the squad this year particularly given the experience that's left,” the Dublin manager said in an interview with TG4.
“He's an old wise head around the place and it's great to have him and he'll get to grips with it. He's just back from a long layoff and a significant injury, so it was great to get him some game-time tonight.”
Dublin are joint-top of Division 1 along with Donegal and Galway on eight points with one round remaining. Another win in the last round away to relegation-threatened Tyrone next weekend would almost certainly be good enough to secure their place in the Allianz League final.
