A last-gasp point from former All-Star Conor McGrath gave Cratloe the three-point victory they needed over Kilmaley to secure their place in the Clare SHC quarter-finals.
The 1-20 to 1-17 win in Newmarket-on-Fergus saw Cratloe go through on scoring difference at the expense of their previously unbeaten opponents. Last year’s semi-finalists Fealke also qualified from Group 2 thanks to a 2-16 to 0-14 win over Corofin with Shane McGrath and Fiachra Donnellan finding the net in either half.
Scariff and Inagh-Kilnamona progressed from Group 3 after accounting for O’Callaghan Mills and Broadford respectively, while Crusheen and Sixmilebridge advanced from Group 4 on Friday night.
Éire Óg, Ennis topped Group 1 and are joined in the knockout stages by holders Clonlara as Tony Kelly’s Ballyea exited the Canon Hamilton Cup race. The quarter-final draw will take place this evening.
