O'Rourke heavily linked with Tyrone vacancy

Speculation is mounting that Malachy O’Rourke will throw his hat into the ring for the vacant Tyrone senior football manager’s post.

O’Rourke is a member of the Errigal Ciaran club and could be tempted to make a return to inter-county management after successful stints with Fermanagh and Monaghan. As manager of Derry, Ulster and All-Ireland club champions Glen, his name has also been inevitably linked with the vacancy in the Oak Leaf County.

However, Tyrone is a more likely suitor for O’Rourke following the departures of joint-managers Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan earlier this week after four years in charge. Paddy Tally, who has been involved with Kerry for the past couple of seasons, Paul Devlin, Peter Canavan, Ciaran Meenagh and Enda McGinley are the other main contenders for the role.
