Lar Wall, Robbie Brennan and Andy Moran have all been linked with the vacant Meath senior football post.

Current Roscommon selector Wall and Kilmacud Crokes manager Brennan have been installed as 11/8 joint-favourites by BoyleSports to replace Colm O’Rourke, who stepped down after two years in charge earlier this week. The pair faced off in the 2022 Leinster Club SFC final where Brennan’s charges defeated Wall's The Downs en route to a controversial All-Ireland win over Glen. Enfield-based Wall has also been linked with the vacancy in Westmeath.

Former Mayo star Andy Moran is also in the Meath mix after recently stepping down as Leitrim manager and ruling himself out of a role in Kevin McStay’s Mayo management. One potential candidate who is definitely out of the running is Cathal Ó Bric after he was reappointed Meath U20 manager on Tuesday night. Ó Bric led the Royals to Leinster glory earlier this year and also to an All-Ireland MFC title in 2021.

At the same county board meeting, Joe Cowley was also ratified as Meath minor football manager for a second year.
