Noel Gallagher, who once played GAA at Croke Park, will play at the famous venue again next August after he and his brother Liam reformed Oasis after 15 years.

The band have got back together ahead of their Oasis Live 25 tour which includes Croke Park dates on August 16 and 17. Noel previously lined out at GAA headquarters in 1983 along with another brother Paul for Manchester GAA club Oisín in an exhibition game.

In a Late Late Show interview in 2012, he said: "I used to play Gaelic Football, not professionally of course, with a team from Manchester.

"We were under 14, 16 and 18 champions consecutively. We were called Oisíns whatever that means I don’t know.

"We came to Dublin to play some exhibition matches against some Dublin teams and we were hammered but there is a photograph of me scoring a point in Croke Park.

"I haven’t got the photograph, but there is a photograph."

The timing of the Oasis concerts effectively rules out the prospect of the All-Ireland SHC and SFC finals being pushed back from their current end-of-July slots.
