Still basking in the warm afterglow of their All-Ireland success, Armagh’s football heroes will be back in action for their clubs in the local championship this weekend.

The race for the Gerry Fagan Cup gets underway this evening with two games in Group A and one in Group C. In Group A, last year’s intermediate club champions Cullyhalla make their SFC bow at home to Killeavy, while Culloville host Silverbridge. Maghery are at home to Madden in Group C.

On Saturday, league champions Clann Éireann travel to St Peter’s for the other Group C tie, while holders Crossmaglen open at home to Clan na Gael in a televised Group B clash and a repeat of last year's county final on Sunday afternoon.

Ballymacnab will be without Rory Grugan for their Round 1 clash with Dromintee on Sunday after he suffered a knee injury in the All-Ireland final.
