London will meet New York in tomorrow’s All-Ireland junior football championship final at Croke Park (1.30pm) after both sides came through their respective semi-finals yesterday.

Matthew Joyce provided a superb injury-time point that proved the difference in the end as London edged a USGAA side by 1-8 to 0-11 in Abbotstown.

Darragh Griffin’s 24th minute goal had helped the All-Britain champions lead by 1-3 to 0-2 at half-time before USGAA produced a strong performance after the change of ends that saw them hitting four unanswered points to level matters.

Shane Bradley and Eoin Gormley led the way in the scoring stakes for them and it was all square between the sides in the closing stages until Joyce’s late intervention. 

Meanwhile, New York stayed on course for back-to-back All-Ireland JFC titles thanks to a 0-11 to 0-8 win over Warwickshire at the same venue.

Patrick Mulvihill's side led by 0-6 to 0-4 at the end of the first-half, and the scores of Brian Coughlan and Shay McElligott in the second period would help see them over the line to Sunday afternoon’s date with London at headquarters ahead of the crunch All-Ireland SFC semi-final clash between Donegal and Galway (4pm).
