Colm Cavanagh believes winning the Ulster SFC title has 'taken its toll' on Donegal and that Tyrone could profit in tomorrow evening's All-Ireland Football SFC Group 3 clash at Ballybofey.

The local derby is a repeat of last month's provincial semi-final which Donegal won after extra-time. They also needed extra-time and penalties to see off Armagh in the final.

"You have to factor it in ultimately, the Ulster Championship is the hardest one out there," the former Tyrone midfielder told BBC NI.

"It’s going to have taken its toll physically and mentally on Donegal, it would have been their target initially.

“So, it’s now all about how Jim [McGuinness] is able to get his team to reset and say that’s gone and get them up for the All-Ireland series but, there can be no doubt that it will have taken its toll."
