All-Star goalkeeper Rory Beggan has returned to the Monaghan senior football panel ahead of this weekend’s Ulster SFC preliminary round clash against Cavan, according to multiple reports.
Beggan has spent the past few months training in the US and taking part in NFL trials, including an NFL combine in Indianapolis at the end of February.
The Scotstown man could still earn a contract with an NFL team in the coming months, but it is understood that he has recently returned to Vinny Corey’s squad in the build up to their home provincial championship opener with the Breffni men.
The 31-year-old has yet to feature for Monaghan this season but could come into the mix in Clones on Sunday (throw-in 4pm).
