Antrim champions Cargin were left fuming after Tomás McCann received a controversial red card in their Ulster Club SFC quarter-final loss to Glen.

The centre forward was sent off in the 26th minute for what was deemed a dangerous high tackle on an opponent by Cavan referee Conor Dourneen.

Veteran Cargin forward Kieran Close, who scored a point after coming on, made no secret of his disgust at the decision when tweeting: “I’ve seen bigger hits at the kids U7 matches.

“You train all year to be faced with decisions like this that have a massive bearing on any game.”
