Barry Nash struck 2-5 as South Liberties preserved their Limerick senior hurling championship status with a comfortable victory over Garryspillane last night.
It finished 7-13 to 2-18 in Adare, where the winners had four of their goals registered in the opening half via Tom Ryan, Nash, Adam Sheehan and Darragh Godrey.
The 4-7 to 1-9 interval advantage was increased early on in the restart after Nash played Ryan through for his second goal before Anthony Nash hit his team’s sixth major from the penalty spot.
Barry Cooney made it seven late on as Liberties won out by 10 in the end and sealed their stay in the in the Treaty County’s topflight for next season.
