Laois legend Ross Munnelly has called time on his 20-year inter-county career.
One of the leading forwards of his generation, the Arles-Kilcruise clubman was handed his debut by Mick O'Dwyer in 2003 when the O'Moore County won their first Leinster SFC title in 57 years. Munnelly also won a Laois SFC title in the same year with his club.
"I will be forever grateful to my club Arles-Kilcruise and all the people I shared the last 20 seasons with. An amazing experience with learnings and friendships that will last forever," he tweeted this morning.
Up to now, the soon-to-be 40-year-old was the longest-serving inter-county footballer with Offaly's Niall McNamee, who is also thought to have played his last inter-county game.
