Ulster club IFC final called off due to unplayable pitch in Newry

December 10, 2022

Freezing conditions have forced the clash of Corduff Gaels and Galbally Pearses to be postponed

This evening’s Ulster club intermediate football championship final between Corduff Gaels (Monaghan) and Galbally Pearses (Tyrone) has been called off.

Ulster Council confirmed the decision this morning following a pitch inspection at the game’s venue at Pairc Esler in Newry where the pitch has been deemed unplayable.

As a result, the provincial decider has been postponed and is set to be played next weekend.

The provincial body also confirmed that tomorrow’s Ulster senior final between Kilcoo (Down) and Glen (Derry) will be subject to a pitch inspection at the Athletic Grounds tomorrow morning.
