Luke Dempsey has been appointed manager of Killoe Young Emmets.
One of the most successful club managers around, Dempsey will hope to lead Killoe back to the Longford senior football summit in 2023 after they were beaten at the quarter-final stage by Dromard this year. The Kildare native's appointment comes just a few weeks after he stepped down as manager of Meath club Gaeil Colmcille after just one season.
Dempsey will be assisted by current Westmeath U20 manager Damien Gavin, who was his captain when he guided the Lake County to an historic All-Ireland MFC success in 1995. The retired schoolteacher is no stranger to the Longford GAA scene, having managed the county senior side for four years between 2004 to '08, and Longford Slashers previous to that.
