Offaly put themselves into Monday morning’s draw for the Tailteann Cup semi-finals by cruising past New York with a 3-17 to 0-11 win in Tullamore this afternoon.
Keith O’Neill’s fisted goal had Offaly on the path to victory just 13 minutes in and another major from Anton Sullivan in first-half injury-time saw the margin at 11 points come half-time.
Jack Reilly and Alan Varley combined for 0-8 of New York’s tally on the afternoon, but it wouldn’t be near enough as the Faithful men were comfortable in this from the moment O’Neill hit the net.
Cathal Flynn netted the hosts’ third goal with 17 minutes to go and the Exiles had no answer as the curtain came down on their season with a 15-point defeat in the end.
TweetCongrats to Offaly on a comprehensive win over @NewYorkGAA in the Tailteann Cup at O'Connor Park today.
