The popular TG4 Underdogs programme came to a conclusion before Christmas when Mickey ‘Ned’ O’Sullivan’s team took on All Ireland champions Meath at Ashbourne.

The match was live on TG4 with the Meath recording a comfortable victory but the real winner on the day was Zak Rocks Fund.

Thanks to Adare Productions, Ladies Gaelic Football and TG4, €8125 was raised and all the proceeds go towards helping Zak Moran in his recovery.

11 years old Zak is a very talented footballer and hurler with O’Mahonys. Earlier this year the club and the wider community was rocked by the news that Zak was diagnosed with a Grade 4, highly aggressive, malignant tumour.

The day was made even more memorable for Zak when he got to meet a host of stars including Meath legend Sean Boylan and the Royals captain for the day Marie O'Shaughnessy.
