Non-playing panel members can attend inter-county games, challenge matches to return

Minister of State for Sport Jack Chambers has announced that non-playing panel members can attend inter-county games.
The Allianz Leagues will return behind closed doors on Saturday with the hurling leagues getting underway before the football competitions throw in the following week.
Covid-19 restrictions meant only 26 players per team were allowed enter GAA stadiums for games in last year's inter-county leagues and championship, as well as 12 backroom staff and two county board officials.
But restrictions for squad numbers have been eased ahead of the start of the 2021 inter-county season.

"All members of panels make a significant contribution to the performance of their counties. Important this is recognised."
In further good news for the GAA, challenge matches between counties may take place from next Monday, 10 May, when inter-county travel is permitted to resume.
