Meath hurlers score 1,000 consecutive points for great cause

Meath hurlers hit 1,000 consecutive points in aid of Cycle for Eimear.

The Meath hurlers went on a scoring spree at training in Kildalkey yesterday when hitting a whopping 1,000 consecutive points for a great cause.

For a couple of hours, Nick Weir's side pucked balls over the bar between the edge of the 'D' and the 65 metre line and eventually completed 1,000 in-a-row without missing.

The Royals, who will face Kerry and Down in Group B of the Joe McDonagh Cup, took on the accuracy challenge in support of the Cycle for Eimear fundraiser for Eimear Murray.

The Boardsmill and Meath footballer was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma last Autumn, just weeks after playing for her club in the Meath Ladies JFC final.

The Cycle for Eimear will see a Static Cycle from Mizen Head to Malin Head on Sunday 2nd May 2021 in three different locations and has raised over €24,000 so far.
