Following yesterday evening’s All-Ireland SFC final victory, champions Dublin are already odds-on favourites to retain the Sam Maguire Cup again next year.
Dessie Farrell’s side defeated Mayo by 2-14 to 0-15 at Croke Park to record the county’s sixth consecutive All-Ireland championship triumph.
Moments before the final whistle at headquarters, bookmakers BoyleSports had set the odds at 1/2 for the Dubs to repeat the success in 2021.
BoyleSports spokesman, Lawrence Lyons, said: “We’re cutting Dublin already and the fact that they are odds-on at 1/2 shows just how highly this side is thought of amongst Irish punters.
"We make Kerry second favourites at 4/1, but all the early bets we’ve taken are backing Dublin’s dominance to continue.”
Yesterday’s beaten finalists Mayo are joint-third favourites at 12/1 to end what will be a 70-year wait to bring back the Sam Maguire Cup, having been last crowned champions in 1951.
