Ray Larkin has stepped down as manager of Mayo hurling kingpins Tooreen.

The Galway native, who lives in Kiltimagh, will now channel all his efforts into managing the Mayo senior team after combining the two roles since 2024. Under Larkin and his assistants Dom Greally and Brian Delaney, Tooreen contested the 2023 and ’25 All-Ireland club IHC finals, only to come up short in both. They lost the latter final to Tipperary’s Upperchurch-Drombane after extra-time on January 10 last.

“We regretfully announce that Ray Larkin, Dom Greally and Brian Delaney have decided to step away from the senior management of our club. They have been at the forefront of the most successful period in our club’s history and we would like to extend to them our sincere thanks for bringing us on a journey most clubs can only dream of,” the club said.

"Their dedication, commitment and countless hours of work over the years gave our players the belief in what could be achieved and our supporters the best of days. On behalf of everyone in the club, we thank them for their efforts and wish them the very best for the future. And of course, we’ll be cheering on Ray in his endeavours with the Mayo hurlers!

"Go n-éirí an t-ádh libh agus go raibh míle maith agaibh."
