The Mayo SFC and IFC finals will go ahead as planned on the weekend after next, leaving the winners of next weekend’s rearranged semi-finals with just a week to prepare.

There was speculation that the Moclair and Sweeney Cup deciders would be pushed back by a week after the semi-finals were postponed last weekend due to Storm Amy. But Mayo CCC has decided to stick to the original final dates of Saturday, October 18 for the IFC final and Sunday, October 19 for the SFC final, with both taking place in Hastings MacHale Park. Times have yet to be confirmed.

In the meantime, the SFC semi-finals between holders Ballina Stephenites and Knockmore, and Crossmolina and Westport, will be played this Saturday at 1.30pm and 4pm in Crossmolina and Charlestown respectively. The SFC relegation final between Ballyhaunis and Mayo Gaels is down for decision in Ballindine on Sunday at 12 noon.

Both IFC semi-finals take place on Sunday with Kiltane and Kilmeena facing off in Knockmore at 1.30pm, and Moy Davitts and Ardnaree meeting in Ballina at 4pm.

The JFC ‘A’ and ‘B’ semi-finals, which also fell victim to Storm Amy, have also been refixed for this weekend, but the finals won’t be played until the weekend of October 25/26.
