Tullamore are back-to-back Offaly senior football champions for the first time since 1926 after recording a 0-15 to 0-14 win against Ferbane at Glenisk O’Connor Park.

Injury-time points from Daire McDaid and Diarmaid Egan were what made the difference in the end for the holders as they held out for their club’s 30th SFC success.

A dominant second quarter period saw Ferbane leading by 0-9 to 0-5 at the interval, but their opponents would send over the first four points of the second-half to level ahead of a Joe Maher free giving the lead back to the 2019 champions.

Ferbane went two up again but the scores of John Furlong and Harry Plunkett (free) saw the sides level heading into injury-time where Tullamore were able to deliver via McDaid and Egan for their third Dowling Cup triumph in four years.
