Kilmacud Crokes manager Robbie Brennan is adamant that Paul Mannion should have got an All-Star.

A surprise omission from the All-Star football team which was announced last Friday night, the seven-time All-Ireland SFC winner responded by shooting 0-5 from play in the first half of Crokes’ Leinster Club SFC semi-final win over Ardee St Mary’s on Sunday.

Describing Mannion’s first half performance as ‘phenomenal’, Brennan told reporters in Ardee: “Listen, I am biased of course but he should have got an All Star, without a shadow of a doubt.

“I won’t say it was a joke but it was a bit of a strange one that he didn’t get it but I don’t think it will bother him too much.

“I think he is happy enough to come down and do his business today.”
