Roscommon are through to the Connacht FBD League final after seeing off Sligo by 3-17 to 2-13 at the NUIG Connacht Air Dome last night.

Two goals from Keith Doyle in the latter stages of the second-half helped see the Rossies over the line and towards a decider date with either Galway or Roscommon next Friday, January 20th at the same venue.

It was Sligo that led at the half (2-9 to 1-9) thanks to goals from Sean Carrabine and Paddy O’Connor (penalty) which came either side of a Ben O’Carroll major at the other end on the 13-minute mark.

The Yeats men stretched their lead to four early in the restart but two points apiece from Anthony McDermott (2) and Paul Carey soon levelled matters, and once Doyle first goal went in on the hour they wouldn’t look back.

Doyle and Connell Kennelly added points ahead of the former lashing in a fantastic goal with two minutes to go to ensure their final berth.
