Replying To MalsBalls: "That Armagh Derry game was farcical....i turned it off as I couldn't concentrate...similar story when monaghan plays kildare. dark green vrs dark blue - very difficult to distinguish between at times.
best of luck this weekend meath. i love the optimism on this forum...from what i seen in our clash vrs donegal yous have your work cut out but confidence is a big thing and you've nothing to lose imo." We do have our work cut out, but to counter that, I thought Monaghan really threw that Donegal game away, and were so superior for 40 odd minutes. But for bad wides and poor decision making, it might and should have been Meath and Monaghan this weekend. So they're a brilliant team, but not invincible. And we'll take a lot of confidence from how Monaghan were able to open them up time and time again.
Now maybe Monaghan are just a better team than Meath, you gave us a good spanking in the league - I think we have drastically improved since. But time will tell on that point.
Regarding clash of kits, yep ridiculous that this is constantly a conversation, the solutions are always so simple, yet the GAA consisted make a mess of the whole thing.
Sunday is simple: Meath wear Green, Donegal were white. Meath wear Navy, Donegal wear white. Meath wear Navy, Donegal wear their home yellow kit.
But we've somehow landed on Meath were green, and Donegal wear a kit that is 50% green. It's genuinely baffling how this is even an issue.
Meath had the same issue with Kerry in the group stages, and Kerry wore navy/blue. Problem solved.

A blind mind could see there's clearly a clash. What is the point of the alternate kits if not to wear them when something resembling a clash like this? Utterly mind boggling. Big build up to a massive game and the GAA going to destroy the game with this nonsense.

One thing over the years Meath can lift there game against better opposition. No saying Meath always win but there performance improves against better opposition. Take 2018 was it when Longford beat Meath next match was against Tyrone. Curtains for Meath but they ended up taken Tyrone to extra time in Navan. And should have won. They were not expected to beat Tyrone in 96 or 07 and won both. Also Dublin and Kerry this nobody thought Meath won beat either. I had sneaky suspicion we would do well against Kerry but didn't think they win by 9.
I think we have a chance against Donegal I didn't think we would beat Galway I thought we would come up short but we managed to pull it off. This time I think we have massive chance to get to final sounds mad even saying it.
I think its going to hard for Donegal to play against Meath they never played us before really there is not that much footage either all young players. Liable to do anything. I suspect Donegal will try blitz Meath early but old days thats fine but not anymore with 2 pointers no defensive system allowed etc, Plus Meath are second half team we have been playing better in second half in a lot of or games. This is sign of a good team. Boylans teams always played better second half.
Pressure is on Donegal an Jim Mc Gunniess. Meath are going give it a lash see what happens. Hopefully we can sneak a win. If we don't best of luck to Donegal and we will go again next year with even more optimism.
I am delighted for Meath supporters that have never been to a semi final before or seen days like these enjoy it they dont come around that often as we know.

I don't think anyone on the Donegal page has been discussing tickets for the final. There was discussion alright at the total balls the GAA/Ticketmaster made of ticket distribution for this weekend.
Make no mistake noone in Donegal is taking Meath lightly. They are there in merit & are a very dangerous, physical outfit.

People can actually read what is on the Donegal page. There is no need for such a disingenuous post.

I get that you would take a different approach but it's not wrong just because you disagree ..... Whether you agree or not there's zero reason to be so outraged, you can surely commit to the idea the decision was made in good faith...

General opinion in the media is Donegal will have far too much.Too much class and too much legs. Top class players all over the field....Moore,Roarty,Langan,Gallen,O'Donnell, O'Donnell,Jason mcGee Then experienced players might not be the leading lights in terms of on the field impact but still influence a lot...McHugh,Murphy, McBrearty.. No longer star men but very effective
It's a strong balance
But for Meath...written off again by every media outlet available....excuses given for Galway,Kerry and Dublin...embarrassed not to know the players so all we hear about is Jordan Morris Irish times had the good grace to write player bios...hopefully everyone reads them And The sky is the limit.... Lets see what we're capable of!

Best of luck to the lads again on Sunday. This season has surpassed my wildest dreams and I think we have a great chance to continue the journey if we play to the best of our abilities and get a bit of luck at the same time. Like the Galway game, the pressure is all on Donegal to get the win, otherwise they have shown zero progress from 2024. For us, we can (hopefully) play without any pressure as we've already surpassed all expectations. Donegal underperformed in last year's semi final, only scoring a point in the last 25 minutes which will surely come into their minds if they underperform. So if we can stick with them in the last 10 minutes, you'd hope we'd be able to grind out a win.

Why shouldn't they talk about all Ireland tickets? I've heard plenty of discussion from our supporters regarding tickets if win on Sunday.
I notice you didn't comment on the Donegal forum you were referring to. And if they bother you, why even go there?
Snide remarks aside, I hope it's a great game and Meath come out the right side of it. Well done to everyone involved in getting us this far. Best of luck Sunday lads.

The media know Jordan morris so they go on about him. That said he is having a stellar year. His direct running in possession is a new development from last year. Costello is playing unbelievable football. Donal keoghan is - maybe? - at long last not our best defender. And that has taken a long time. Don't get me wrong as the song says he is still the king. But with Rafferty and Coffey we have 2 players who can mix it with the best.
I would like to see same team as lined out against Galway. Keep Conor Grey as a tank to bring on in the last 20-30 minutes.
I think Donegal will be focussed on Morris. Costello will hopefully make hay.
The jersey colour thing is crazy Meath should play in Navy like the Offaly game. So obvious.
Great that there is such support in the county that we can pretty much sell out Croke park because I'll tell you as someone who was there, there were not a lot of Meath fans in Portlaois this year. Maybe this is the spark thag lights the Meath revolution!
