Gabriel Donnelly , is he the coach from Tyrone ? Great coup from Dunshaughlin if this is the case . . Im not so sure about the dual manager set up though . . Has there ever been a successful pairing in GAA history ?
Who makes the final say on things?

I didn't see any official announcement from Dunshaughlin on their social media yet, so a bit early to be wishing them the best of luck on taking over, unless you are in the inner circle and already know they have been given the job, but you could be right as they are the favourites of all the names in the running at the moment, they are probably just finalising their backroom team before being ratified.
It will be interesting to see the make up of their backroom team and who they will entice to join them. Any ideas?

The Pats intermediates are still without a manager at this late stage ... apparently the lads have taken it upon themselves to sort a training session or two!!!!!

I heard St Pats players were just training amongst themselves with no manager, surely someone will take that job if not already filled. Rathkenny have a manager the last few weeks. Unsure on the other 3

The cost of paying managers is breaking clubs. Even clubs that have no chance of winning anything are forced into getting managers as the time required from January @ 3 times a week to possibly September is too much for to commit to.
It isn't any wonder clubs don't have anyone in place.

I'm not aware of any club going broke paying a manager.
It's up to club to agree to payment, big bucks doesn't necessarily mean big success.

Some very successful and unsuccessful in house appointments within clubs.

There's a lot of reasons why clubs can't or won't appoint in house.
1. Small clubs in the main, simply don't have the personal to do everything.
2. Huge pressure within own club. In many cases a lose lose scenario for any appointment
3. TIME- It's now three days a week at most levels. Not many people can afford to do so without expenses.

There are exceptions to every rule. But in general an in house appointment is a poison chalice.

All above is hard to argue with I think the biggest anomaly is how Dunhsaughlin have found it so hard a club that size and just off recent success shouldn't have that problem recruiting from outside or inside the club. Rumour is they are in contact with someone they had over them 16/17 years ago .

It is a lose lose going in to Dunshaughlin at this stage when someone else brought them to a title last year

I wouldn't say so. Be very attractive job I'd say. Great facilities, good numbers, good quality, lots to build on from Kealys & Co hard work.

I dunno how it's a lose lose. Best squad best forwards and they're all youthful. Nobody over the hill or crawled across the line and now retiring there's plenty more in them and Richie did a fantastic job and built the foundations but they can go and win another 2/3 if their in a decent set up. Nobody would look down on a manager if it didn't happen in year one but if you went at it over 2/3 seasons you should get one with the players and facilities they have. I think it's a massive set back to what they could get in and involved. Richie picked the club up from some mess getting relegated when they shouldn't have been anywhere near that mess o Mahoneys and curraha ballinabrackey all were below them. Won the intermediate in year one (should've won a Leinster maybe even and all Ireland intermediate if they didn't lose the sigerson lads in a row) then ran rathoath to a point in year one senior, win it year two senior, all when dealing with what he had to deal with two. Richie deserves so much plaudits for what he done with structures and standards in the club but what was there before he was there was clearly sub standard and way off what was required, just hope we don't slip back to what was there before with such a talented group, going back to someone involved so long ago isn't that exciting
