2021 Minor Footballers

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Fortunate enough to have gotten tickets for tomorrow but the game is also on TG4 YouTube I believe. A few guys from the Leinster winning panel of 2020 with Sean Emmanuel being the headliner. Anybody know much more about this team and it's players?

have been going well in recent challenges , 5 lads from last years minor team to come back to the panel , overall a very talented bunch of lads with some free scoring forwards , very good management team behind them , expect to be able to handle louth and give the dubs a rattle in the leinster final

Brilliant second half performance credit to all involved, into the wind aswell every single meath player seemed to raise their game, Jack Kinlough absolutely outstanding in midfield. That wasnt a bad louth team either, Leinster Final should be a cracker

Well done to all, another shot at the Dubs

The lads looked a little nervous and gave away a good bit of ball with the wind in the first half. It's their first competitive game together so they probably had a bit of rust. Was a much better second half, much calmer on the ball. Few good players. Corcoran looks to have a bit of magic about him and can get the feet set quickly for shots off the left. The final is in Tullamore and hopefully there's more than 500 allowed in for it otherwise there'll be a big ticket race

Surely they could have played it in Croker before the Senior Final so there would be no problem with attendance

A good point if 18,000 are allowed in to watch. Good for the young lads to get a game in Croker too

Good win, strong finish to the second half. Shaun Leonard, Jack Kinlough and Hughie Corcoran all impressed the most for me. Corcoran showing good skill and confidence in taking on a shot. Dubs will be a challenge but I don't think they're any better than us.

What's the story on attendance for tomorrow?
And ticket availability?

Only 500 were allowed and no tickets went on general sale. A joke on both accounts, how there isn't at least 10% capacity allowed is beyond me. I think TG4 are streaming it on youtube atleast

Difficult to understand why game was not played in CP today, little or no impact on attendance, instead we have a stand alone fixture played at 12 on a Bank Holiday in front of a few hundred.

That's some farce. Why not allow even 3k.

Great performance.

The real tests come now. We need to land the big one to really lay down a marker for the years to come.

1,800 was meant to be allowed for that minor final today, did nobody bother to tell Meath, Dublin or the Leinster GAA that?

Where did you see this? It still feels odd seeing Meath on the TV and not in person. Meath have only won 5 Leinsters at senior, minors/17's or 21's/20's, two of them have been in the last month and unfortunately the crowd has been extremely limited at either. Hopefully there's a few thousand allowed at the all Ireland semi final

Good win but that Dublin team were very poor, Think the standard of the Leinster minor championship is poor and has been for the last few years, Meath seem to struggle once they get out of Leinster.

I take your point that Dublin were very poor today. But they hammered Offaly in the quarter final, and then beat Kildare in the semi. I do think we didn't give them the chance to look great. We put in some amount of tackles, and constantly harassed them into mistakes. I take your point though, our 2018 team beat Derry in the quarter final. But in 2017, 2018 and the 2020 age we lost the all Ireland semi. It would be brilliant to take it at least one step further this year
