Replying To Htaem:  "I think some are confident others like myself are more apprehensive but I wouldn't misinterpret confidence as cockiness or arrogance. Given our different league positions and historical championship dominance I can understand where they're coming from even if I disagree myself.

For what it's worth I view this as a very tricky fixture, I think if we perform well then we can come away with the win but Wicklow will quite rightly feel the same way and if we don't perform well then our season is over, simple as that.

Anyway, may the best team win."
Just about to tuck into my half time "humble pie" I can only apologise, I really thought we'd give you a match. Embarrassing. Really awful. Meath look polished so far. Leagues apart.

A joy to watch at times. What an emphatic win. Very well done to our lads and Im for one chuffed to have predicted an infinitely closer match to be proven wrong. A lot of talent on display today and it could have been worse for the opposition. Not a lot else to say really. Onward to the Lillies or the Faithful.

No need for that ,its a poor supporter who cannot at least hope his/her county can spring a surprise. Our experience in Div 1 stood us well today.

No need for humble pie or apologies Wicklowman, we all have tough days at the office and I have no intentions of driving the boot in.

From a Meath point of view obviously I'm very happy to get the win and move on to the next round.

I hope Wicklow don't lose too much heart from this result though, yous got promoted and now have an opportunity to progress further so yous should still view this season as a success. Rome wasn't built in a day and progress is a game of inches not miles.

Shtop your talk. Wicklow looked like they were happy with their promotion and maybe lost focus (which is fair enough and you couldn't blame them after very good league campaign). Meath on other hand hungry and with a point to prove, to themselves as much as anyone else.

Hard luck wicklowman the goals early on killed wicklow, but I predict a bright future for yous really seem to be coming on at underage age level aswell, as for meath they looked impressive strong in the tackle and are a very hard working team, the younger players seem to have bought us up a level were building a good squad. Optimistic for next week hopefully its against kildare.

First off well done Meath. Wicklow appalling today no other words for it, but once the dust settles promotion has been achieved. After today we are under no illusions for lies in store if we do not prepare for what lies ahead in Division 3. I'll forget about today and take solace in the fact that we do actually have some good minor teams etc coming through. Minors beat Dublin and Meath in recent years. Today was a freak result, usually only 4-6 points between Meath and Wicklow. Sit tight in Division 3, let our talented youth, D'Arcy, Ging etc find their feet in the higher division. I'd be more disappointed if we were staring down the barrel of another year of Division 4 football.

Happy with the win and some really good performers . I expected us to win comfortably but certainly not that comfortably. The Aughrim factor is a myth as their results there over the past 10/12 years have proven. Lots of work for us to do. 5 points in the first have against a really poor defence. Some awful pot shots and poor execution from the likes of O'Reilly Morris Walsh etc that will simply not do v kildare who i expect to win later. Really hard to judge where we are at after that to be honest because unfortunately Wicklow were horrendous . But it would be fairly obvious kildare and even offaly will be 3 or 4 levels up

How many lads stepped up to take 45s today? Each as bad as eachother. Still no consistent 80% accurate free taker or anyone remotely close.

After today we can dare to dream. It's been too long since we've seen games like Kerry v. Cork. Who the hell would want to go back to qualifiers/ super 8's?!
This is what its all about. Bring on Kildare or Offaly.

Don't bank on Donegal......they have a certain Mr Rochford on their backroom team, he will mess up somewhere....snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Meath are a much improved team since that dire day day in PT earlier in the year.

You can sing that again about the qualifiers. Today in their collective subconsciousness Cork could have settled for the moral victory and took their chances through the backdoor. We will never know but one thing is for sure Kerry would have learned from today's defeat and would have a lot to say in the remainder of the championship. Time to go straight ko.

Apart from Morris the starting f/f line was poor, there is no doubt that Walsh has talent but today especially, he wanted far too much time on the ball and was turned over too easily by a bad Wicklow defence. A good all round preformance, thought our tackling in first half was very good, got a bit ragged later on but by then game was well over. Good to get a win at long last, panel looks much stronger than previous number of years, next week should be a cracker against Kildare.
