Hard to be critical of yesterday, a slow start can happen but from then on a lot of positives. Thomas O reilly, as I have said on here many times has a lot of potential and he looked like he was more in control yesterday. James Conlan gave us something different inside. Brennan is doing just fine in goals and not costing us (bar when we were a man down and the press came on). Our bench will be much stronger this year than last year.

I think Lavin and Harnan are huge losses and both should be back soon.

Hasn't shown enough to warrant inclusion on the bench, never mind the starting team.

Yes Thejoeshow, I was down at the game Sunday. Hasn't done enough to impress whatsoever.

It's well and all kicking 5 points against minnows in Leinster, but you need players to stand up and be counted for against the big teams. The J.Conlon experiment not worth pursuing any further, especially with quality attackers like Shane Walsh and Thomas O'Reilly coming through

I thought the performance on sunday was very encouraging. The lads looked to do the correct things constantly. They seem to be learning, albeit a steep learning curve.

Some excellent spells of character when things were going against Meath, such as the black cards (Cillian O'Sullivan's was harsh imo) and the David Clifford goal. It was a lovely finish, but a mistake in defence. Thus again proving that thr top teams punish every mistake.

As a team, I thought Meath looked good and are definitely on right track and direction, even ghough relegation is probably a certainty. Some guys more than others, are finding the feet well at the higher level. Its just that the top teams are ruthless. These teams haven't been up contesting at this level for years for no reason.

But we'll drive onto next Sunday in Navan. Galway flying high, will need thier Wings clipped. Fingers crossed.

royaldunne, I was down in Kerry like the rest of the loyal supporters willing on our lads. We were unfortunate on the day not to come away with more, but a good performance nonetheless.

However, this doesn't take away from the fact that in my opinion, J.Conlon isn't fit to lace the boots of some of the exciting forward prospects we have. GAA has moved on and I feel he's just not quite doing enough to justify his place. This is highlighted with the absence of in-form club players such as Biggie, Nipper O'Dwyer and Davy McLoughlin from the panel.

Was clearly one of the form players in last years Senior Championship?

I'm open to correction, but I would be hopeful he would be capable of carrying that form into the county set-up as an previously untried player in the Andy McEntee regime. Worst case scenario he doesn't flourish and returns to Dunshaughlin.

Would also love to see some of the successful Meath Juniors tested at this level. Players like Daire Rowe of Syddan and Adam Lynch of Cilles (who is very tenacious) would be worth looking at going forward.

I didn't see two many of them shining on Saturday tbh. Let them go back to their clubs and prove their senior credentials with good club form

Brilliant performance it must be said and a fantastic weekend, what I would give for another trip down there during the summer for super eights. Heard someone remark that Killarney both nights felt like the good old days of Meath football, think that summed it up somewhat.

Given what we had at our disposal and the setting, that is as good a performance I can remember in some time, I feared we wouldn't have the tools to lay a glove but you rarely see Kerry rattled like that. I rarely get involved in ref discussions either but he had a huge bearing on that result, the two points which came directly from a ridiculous free from memory when we were 1 down felt like the deciding period in the end, but a huge amount of positive to take out of it.

Very much looking forward to the summer ahead after seeing us stand up down there.

Cillian o Sullivan's black card at the start was a joke too, and it really cost us.

If they are good enough then most certainly they will. What junior/inter players should be on the panel/team that aren't?
