At the start of the year I would have accepted div 2 safety and a solid enough Championship display. ie without any collapses. Noting has changed for me still expecting the worst, and hoping for the best, I am also bored with the GAA football inter county scene in general. Dublin winning at a canter for more or less the past 5 year bar Mayo putting it up to them. A Mayo team that everyone is slacking now saying there past etc. Well if any team has been going to toe to toe with that Dublin for the best part of 5 years so, There is going to burn out. But getting back to Meath is been very disappointing year so far with all the players that have left the panel. Its hard to know where Meath ar. But its going to very hard to get a victory in Lonford Sunday. Dublin struggled there before also. So it going to very tight hopefully we can sneaky a win."
Keep the faith lad. Im staying positive with high hopes for Sunday, but if it doesnt go our way i too myself with be back feeling negative and be of the realisation that we are actually going backwards and i will probably cry with anger if im honest.
But they deserve this chance to prove to us they havent been training like they have been for nothing. We havent a clue where we are at with lads gone and new lads coming in who have never played championship before, so come Sunday we will have the full picture of how far we have or havent come. This game will be the making or breaking of us.

Ok hang on a minute, Pearse Park had a set capacity of 6000 with around 2000 seats!!!! To hell with this now, my understanding was that the game was to be played at Pearse Park, which I have no problem with, providing that works had been completed to a satisfactory level, now we hear the southern terrace is completely demolished and unavailable and only 2000 seats in the stand available, 2000 seats between both sets of supporters!!!! This is farce, they won't let Wicklow host the Dubs, they won't let Carlow host Kildare but they allow us to visit what is essentially a building site with a lower capacity of either Aughrim or Dr Cullen Park........maybe I'm overreacting here but to hell with it I think this is scandalous.

i Agree i know the Dubs always get well looked after but this is taking the pi55. I was told the reason the Dubs game was moved was that too many Season tickets were sold to the Dubs and Aughrim was to small to fit them all in. I am pretty sure more then 2000 bought either Longford or Meath Season tickets

I agree richie.
Given the good weather and plenty of optimism in Longford and the game not on telly id have expected 8-10k. Easily.

Out of curiosity, whats the last meath Leinster championship game to have less than 6k at it?

I can see a bit of a mess outside the ground on sunday....

it was not wedged that day nothing like it people had lost faith in the team because of all the bad defeats under Micko

Still almost 50% above the capacity for sunday.
And longford being at home will have a lot more support than wicklow would have brought that day.

I know I agree with you if it was Dublin the game would be moved some where else. 6,000 is not enough and the venue is not ready, but we roar and get behind our team more and we should not be afraid of longford and I believe we will beat them with a bit to spare

True. I reckon longford will be set up defensively but in the last 15 mins or so id hope we could pull clear by 4 or 5

It's true the Gaa have pulled a fast one on meath with thya 6k attendance. We always knew this was a tough away fixture so the players will just have to focus on the Job st hand. will be a 50/50 Game for the most part but meath should have enough( fitness and ability ) in the end to get the win and heads down then for the Dublin game. Up The Royal County

Has to be the worst Meath substitutes bench I have ever seen, if we are losing late on I don't know who Andy will turn to.

Is everyone getting their tickets In advance or just getting them down there? I'm thinking it's probably not worth the risk traveling down and hoping to get a ticket there with them only allowing 6,000 in?
