Good luck to the juniors tonight and I hope to see a good crowd at the game. It's a strong team that's named with some very good forwards and I'd expect us to have to much for wexford Meath4Sam2020 (Meath) - Posts: 132 - 07/06/2017 17:13:14 1996578 Link 0 |
Handy Leinster for meath on the cards none of these players look like they be capable of stepping up a grade in the near future other than possibly Traynor from Syddan who looked classy when brought on Brownepat (Meath) - Posts: 532 - 08/06/2017 09:04:44 1996771 Link 0 |
Thought Kennelly looked good in the 2nd half when pressure was on also the corner back from Colmcilles Adam Lynch was a very good tight corner back. But yeah not much players would be pushing for senior spots, thought Flanagan was very poor from his catching to distribution with the ball. meathforsam09 (Meath) - Posts: 116 - 08/06/2017 09:53:03 1996787 Link 0 |
In the All Ireland Final now, think Meath have Louth in the Leinster final and either Londons second team or Lancashire in the All Ireland semi final, handy run fearmanach1 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 15 - 08/06/2017 11:55:48 1996857 Link 0 |
Yep spot on. Sloppy enough performance overall. A lot of lads seem to be there purely because they played on minor or U21 teams and in reality won't make the step up to senior. For me, it just highlights the fact that what's already on the senior panel is as good as what's available and that there are very few lads from intermediate or junior clubs capable of making an impact at the highest level. Obviously there's lads from senior clubs who are unavailable to McEntee for various reasons but with that aside our senior panel is by and large made up of the best talent out there.

Matters not , easy or hard , it still has to be won .... In 20 yrs time , the history books will harmonise things , a win this years will hold the same strength as a win last year etc. Meath_True (Meath) - Posts: 285 - 08/06/2017 13:53:55 1996929 Link 0 |
Guys , what's your problem with Kevin Ross or Paddy Kennelly et al In the League , O Byrne and the Challenge match's he ( Ross) has done his bit . When asked to track back and help out in defence he has done that . When asked to take frees, and penalties he has done that, with aplomb . Yet ye have dissed his performances by saying the juniors aren't up to much in relation to the senior squad , of which he is one of the panel members .? . That alonmg with the fact that he is the go to player for his club , and racks up high scores on a weekly basis . Kindly explain . No one mention Kevin Ross. He's been excellent all year for his club Greg when allowed to play and giving the county setup a right good go. When he gets to Croker for the junior final he will run amok.

There's a few players from last night who could be pushing it to be on senior squad. The players are daire Rowe, paddy kennelly, Ben Brennan and Kevin traynor there the players who really stood out for me. Players who didn't have a great performance where conor farrell and conor moratory Meath4Sam2020 (Meath) - Posts: 132 - 08/06/2017 16:47:27 1997014 Link 1 |
Yeah I would agree with who you mentioned. Thought Moriarty just couldn't get into it but yeah the midfield was very poor

Yeah Moriarty couldn't get his hands on the ball to contribute much to the game. He's great at placed balls but his general play must improve. Also thought defence done well with lynch and flood both doing very well in corner backs and toner done well carrying the ball up the field his finishing product could improve. Moriarty better in the ff line? anyway he is only 19 to be fair.

how did conlon do? any time i seen him he looks a serious prospect, but needs to bulk up a bit.

Had the beating of his man early on but was quieter in the second half before being withdrawn. He has lightening feet and could turn on a sixpence but maybe needs to add another trick to game. Instead of always trying to take on his man he could bring others into the play and find a man in the better position. What we're looking for from this junior team is players with potential to develop into footballers capable of producing at senior county level. Kennelly would be the pick of the bunch from last night imo. MarkMyWords (Meath) - Posts: 498 - 08/06/2017 23:51:42 1997164 Link 2 |
