Martina was a founder member of the local Kilskyre Ladies' GAA team and played football for many years. She had previously lined out for Moylagh and was good enough to play in goals for Meath. Martina also played badminton and racquetball. Married to Eddie, she was a member of many organisations in the community including Vincent De Paul. I.C.A and the Church Choir. Martina's brothers, Sean and Raymond Lydon, have provided great service to Ballinlough GAA over the years with Raymond enjoying a successful stint as senior team manager
