17-year-old Evan tragically died in a road collision in May as he made his way to minor training with Rathmolyon. One of the club's brightest prospects, he had been part of Meath hurling development squads in recent years. Evan was also an outstanding footballer and was a vital part of an excellent, title winning, Summerhill underage crop from their under 12 days right up to this year's minor side. His father Shane is a selector with the Rathmolyon Intermediate hurling team while his uncle Colin Brennan is chairperson of the club. A minute's silence was held in memory of Evan before the Meath U16 HL finals at the county's Centre of Excellence in Dunganny.
