Kim was the daughter of Jim (Tipper) Allan who played football for Skryne. Jim also played Juvenile hurling with Skryne in the only two years the Blues fielded a team in that grade of the GAA. Kim is also related to John Allan who has played for Skryne and is still active in the club.
