Holders Setanta will play St Eunan’s in the Donegal senior hurling championship final next month thanks to a 2-20 to 1-9 win over Sean MacCumhaills on Saturday.

In pursuit of their fourth title in four years, Setanta were in impressive form in Ballybofey where they ran up a 0-11 to 0-2 lead on their opponents with Josh McGee Cronolly landing some fine scores for them.

The champions went on to lead by seven at the break and made a blistering start to the second-half which saw corner-forward Sean Ward firing in a brace of goals for them.

Dean Hannigan pulled back a goal for MacCumhaills, but Setanta were already safely over the line before the scores of Oisin Marley and Steven McBride rounded off their tally.

 Mark Marley’s men now look forward repeat of last year’s final against St Eunan’s after the Letterkenny side hit 40-time champions Burt for five goals in their respective semi-final yesterday.

It finished 5-15 to 1-17 in the end, with Brian MacIntyre, Matt Ahern, Russell Forde and John Kealy (2) bagging the goals for the victors.

Green flags by MacIntyre and Kealy helped St Eunan’s to hold a 2-7 to 0-9 lead at the interval and, while Burt would edge ahead with the helps of marksman Liam McKinney, who finished with 1-10, more goals would hit their net to surge the 2021 winners back into the county final.
