RTÉ Hurling Team of the Year 'not what I picked'

Joe Canning has jokingly distanced himself from The Sunday Game’s Hurling Team of the Year.
Limerick dominated the selection with 10 players included after their All-Ireland SHC final demolition of Canning’s beloved Galway, who have three players named. Beaten semi-finalists Clare and Cork have one each.
The team was chosen by Shane Dowling, Dónal Óg Cusack, Ursula Jacob, Brendan Cummins, Anthony Daly and Patrick Horgan, with Canning having no input. Clearly unimpressed with the selection which omitted standout performers such as Galway’s Tom Monaghan and Cillian Trayers, the 2017 All-Ireland SHC winner wrote on X: “FYI; Not what I picked as my team of the year!”
