An injury-time pointy from Chris Og Jones saw Cork edge Kerry by 0-16 to 0-15 in Killarney this afternoon to clinch the McGrath Cup.
John Cleary’s men earned some early season silverware by eclipsing a Kingdom side which welcomed back stars like David Clifford, Sean O’Shea and Joe O’Connor for their first outing of 2026.
Clifford, O’Shea and Tony Brosnan were among the scorers after the All-Ireland champions built up a 0-7 to 0-2 lead after 20 minutes and they’d go on to hold a 0-9 to 0-5 advantage at the half.
Jones and Colm O’Callaghan halved the Rebels deficit within eight minutes of the restart and Brian Hurley’s two-pointer would bring them level heading into the game’s final quarter.
Brosnan shot over from beyond the arc to push the home side back into a two-point lead, but Cork got scores back via Ruairi Murphy and Sean McDonnell ahead of Hurley (free) surging them in front with a two-pointer.
Brosnan levelled for Kerry and Killian Spillane moved them back in front, but Hurley’s free squared things up for the last time on the hour mark prior to Jones grabbing the winners two minutes later as Cork sealed their 11th success in this competition and third in succession.
