A 57-year-old lined out alongside his son in a county final in Kildare last Saturday.

The evergreen Sean Moriarty manned the pivotal centre back position for Rathcoffey in their Reserve Football ‘F’ Championship final against Ballymore Eustace in Clane. His son Matthew also featured in defence at corner back as Rathcoffey came up short on an 0-8 to 1-12 scoreline.

This year marks Sean’s 40th year playing adult football for Rathcoffey and you wouldn’t bet against him returning for more in 2026!
