Tom Gavigan Wolfe Tones

CLG Bhulf Tón 3-15 CLG Domhnach Mór/Cill Dhéagláin 0-15

Dhá bhua as dhá chluiche ag foireann sinsir Bhulf Tón tar éis an ceann is fearr a fháil ar Chill Dhéagláin i bPáirc Tailteann ar an Satharn. Tús maith ag Cill Dhéagláin ach de réir a chéile d'éirigh le Bhulf Tón an lámh in uachtar a fháil agus chríochnagh siad le naoi bpointe de bhuntáiste.

Donaghmore/Ashbourne were five points to one in front after 10 minutes in a breezy Páirc Tailteann in this Round two senior championship clash on Saturday. A Caolan Ward two point free on 13 minutes sparked the Baile Orthaí, Baile Ghib, Kilberry and Wilkinstown men into life and by the 22nd minute the game was level at 8 points each. A well worked Tom Gavigan goal and a Caolan Ward penalty in the space of three minutes had the Tones going in at the break 2-10 to 0-10 in front.

Playing with the breeze in the second half Tones dominated the play but failed to take a number of scoring chances, however a Fiachra Ward goal on 48 minutes after a beautiful up field team move had the scoreline 3-12 to 0-12. Donaghmore/Ashbourne responded and had a number of half goal chances which they didn’t convert and when Kyle Moran hit a two point free on 58 minutes their fate was sealed. The final score 3-15 to 0-15.

This was an entertaining game with the Tones ability to take their goal chances the deciding factor on the day. All Bhulf Tón players had strong performances with Ross Gallagher, Caolan Ward, Thomas O’Reilly, Sarán Ó Fionnagáin and Tom Gavigan all enjoying good moments.
