Cumann na mBunscol: First title in seven years for Kildalkey

Eleven Meath Cumann na mBunscol hurling and camogie titles were up for grabs on Friday and Saturday at Lomans Park Trim.

Kildalkey claimed their first Division 2 Camogie title after this narrow win over Boardsmill NS in the third game of the day on Friday at Lomans Park Trim.

Boardsmill, who last won this competition in 2004 but hadn’t qualified for a final since dominated the opening half. Mollie Kate Mahon opened their account but Kildalkey hit back with a Holly Evan goal. From there on the Mill controlled matters and were rewarded with goals from Fia Reilly and Robin Healy to go in at the break 2-1 to 1-0 in front.

The sides exchanged points in the opening minutes of the second half. Kildalkey had the game all square before the three quarter stage with a Anna Walsh goal and an Evans point. Eimear Guy put Boardsmill back in front before the games deciding score arrived, Emma Monaghan getting in for her teams third goal and the title was heading back to the Village school.
