Kildalkey 2-19 Kiltale 2-19

Kildalkey headed for Kiltale on Saturday evening to face off with their old rivals in Round 2 of the Division 1HL and both teams produced a lively high scoring encounter and shared the points on offer.

Kildalkey opened the scoring with a brace of points from Paddy Potterton followed by 2 from Paddy Coneely but Kiltale matched them with frees Niall McNally and a long range Paddy Barnwell effort pushed them on but again Kiltale replied .Conor Fitzgerald nipped in for a quick 1-1 for himself and his brother Evan hit a score with Coneely and McNally closing the first half scoring for Kildalkey as they led by 1-12 to 0-12 at the break.

Corner back in the first half Jamie Kavanagh moved up the field as Brendan McKeon was introduced and Kavanagh hit his sides first point of the second half a McNally free and 2 from Coneely pushed them on again but Kiltale replied again. A batted Evan Fitzgerald goal put 6 between them but Kiltale were awarded a penalty and goalie Shane McGann made no mistake with his shot and within a minute Ross Ryan had another goal to level a pointed free each tied up the scoring at 2-19 a piece as both sides salvaged something from the game both teams will feel they could have won it but a point is better than no points as they move on to round 3 in 2 weeks time with plenty to work on.
